Become a Friend of BSK
Help us make a difference in our community
We’re excited to introduce Friends of BSK! A new community of people coming together to support the work of BSK through fundraising, events and community activities.
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers who would like to get involved, meet new people and help make a difference.
There are lots of ways you can get involved, including:
Helping with fundraising – from taking part in fundraising activities to coming up with new ideas
Supporting at events – helping us make our events fun, welcoming and successful
Selling raffle tickets – helping us raise vital funds
Planning and promoting events – helping spread the word and bringing people together
You don’t need to be able to commit lots of time. Whether you can give an hour now and then or get more involved, every contribution makes a difference.
By becoming a Friend of BSK, you’ll be helping us raise funds, build connections across our community and create more opportunities for the people we support.

Volunteer Bookkeeper
Use your skills to make a difference at BSK
Are you an experienced bookkeeper looking to use your skills to support a great local cause?
We’re looking for a Volunteer Bookkeeper to join the BSK finance team on a part-time voluntary basis. This is a great opportunity for someone with bookkeeping experience who would like to contribute their time and expertise to an organisation making a real difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities and autistic people.
You’ll work alongside our full-time finance team and part-time Finance Director, helping to keep our day-to-day financial processes running smoothly.
What you could be involved in
The role can be tailored around your experience and the time you’re able to give, but activities could include:
Processing accounts payable and supplier invoices
Carrying out weekly cash reconciliations and banking
Supporting accounts receivable and customer accounts
Managing and reconciling company credit cards
Helping with general bookkeeping and finance administration
Providing additional support to the finance team where your skills can add value
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who:
Has previous bookkeeping experience
Is confident working with numbers and financial information
Has good attention to detail and enjoys working in an organised way
Is comfortable using Microsoft Office
Has experience with a basic bookkeeping or accounting system (an advantage, but not essential)
Is reliable, practical and happy to work as part of a small team
What we can offer
This is a voluntary, part-time role with flexible hours, so we’re happy to work around your availability. The role will be office-based, giving you the opportunity to get to know the BSK team and see first-hand the difference your contribution makes.
Most importantly, you’ll be using your professional skills to help BSK continue to create skills, opportunities and greater independence for the people we support.
